Supervisory board

Dr. Erik Hoppe is founding partner of Bioventure, the lead investor of Aptarion. He has supported Aptarion since its inception, first as a Business Angel, then with Bioventure as lead investor and subsequently as Chairman of the Supervisory Board.

In 2001, Dr. Hoppe founded Bioventure initially as a consultancy firm with the goal to support young biotech companies in commercializing the immense value creation potential of outstanding scientific achievements. Based on this experience, he developed the specific Bioventure Club Deal investment approach in 2011 and since then, Bioventure has become a dedicated and successful biotech investor.

Dr. Hoppe studied Chemistry, Biochemistry and Business Administration and holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry.

After studying chemistry and general management, Dr. Wallmeyer held various entrepreneurial positions with management responsibility. Today, as a business angel and serial entrepreneur, he accompanies direct investments and participations in the life science sector from the scientific side as well as in the support of active management. Between 1985 and 2008 he founded several highly renowned companies in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, chemical and food processing industries and was a member of the BMD of bmp AG Life Science. He is currently also CFO of nanopet Pharma.

Dr. Elmar Stachels joined Aptarion’s Supervisory Board in 2019. After studying law he started working for Bayer AG. At Bayer, Dr. Stachels held different Senior Management positions incl. Managing Director and Country speaker for the Bayer Group Iran, President of Bayer Mexico and Managing Director of DyStar/Hoechst JV. He ended his career at Bayer as CEO and Country speaker for the Bayer Group Greater China with Pharma, Diagnostics, Animal Health, Crop Protection, Polymers and Chemicals.

After his professional career at Bayer, Dr. Stachels serves as consultant and advisory board member for different companies, incl. Bioventure. He also started  bis own Company.
